With the next version of Microsoft Windows, Vista, a new feature called the sidebar has been introduced. The sidebar contains small programs called gadgets that perform a number of functions. Out of the box Vista gives you a heap of gadgets from weather forecasts, stock tickers, calendars and clocks.
Gadgets are pretty simple to develop if you know Javascript and HTML.

A gadget that shows a countdown to an event that you have configured. This gadget has eight different skins / backgrounds you can choose from.

A simple gadget that displays your quota from OptusNet on your sidebar, updates every 15 minutes.

Freeway Time [Download] [More Information]Current Version:1.3.0
A simple gadget that displays current travel times on Melbourne’s freeways as provided by VicRoads. The gadget allows you to configure the direction of travel in the morning and afternoon and will automatically switch to display the relevant travel time.
This gadget has been updated again to work on the new VicRoads traffic site and to include data for Eastlink and the Calder. Click on the More Information link for further info!
